I’ve talked about it before as an afterthought, however, here I am talking about it more directly.
I often don’t have a ton of time to work on my TTRPG over the year, with my job (teacher), my son, my daughter, friends, books, wife, and just general needing to turn my brain off once in a while. But, I want to talk about my TTRPG just a bit, and hopefully get some sort of conversation going.
It’s called Splintered Continent, and it’s set in the same world as my book series, The Phoenix and the Ant, just a century-ish earlier. Started as a hacked-together (very, very hacked together) FATERPG thing that I played with some friends and it was quite fun! Now I am working on turning it into its own thing/something that can be flexed into most core systems.
It’s generally meant to be aimed at 11+, those that are just starting to learn how to play TTRPGs. I’ve done Dungeons and Dragons with students for about five years now, and I always end up having to simplify quite a bit (these kids cannot keep track of their own spells). So my goal is that the system is simple, fun, but still allows challenge, while feeling “visceral”. I also like the idea of environmental changes, and a more story-focused battle system.
Anyway, check it out at the link, feel free to email me @ smvltrudeau@proton.me with any thoughts, or comment below. I’d love to hear from people: Splintered Continent Draft.
Stay awesome,
SMVL Trudeau
P.S. Don’t forget the my sequel novel, The Phoenix and the Ant: Ancestral Cries comes out May 28th.
